Layer SplittingUpdated 10 months ago

Layer splitting occurs when layers do not bond properly. Here are some straightforward solutions to help prevent it.

Key Factors and Solutions

  1. Temperature Settings:
    • Nozzle Temperature: Set your nozzle temperature according to the filament manufacturer’s recommendations. Increasing the temperature slightly may improve layer adhesion.
  2. Print Speed:
    • Slower Speeds: Reduce print speed, especially for the initial layers. Slower speeds allow for better bonding between layers, giving the filament more time to adhere.
  3. Layer Height:
    • Proportional Selection: Choose a layer height that is 20% smaller than your nozzle diameter. For example, if you are using a 0.4 mm nozzle, select a layer height of 0.32 mm or less. Ensuring the layer height is appropriate helps improve layer bonding and reduces separation.
