Over ExtrusionUpdated 7 months ago

Over-extrusion in 3D printing occurs when the printer releases more filament than needed, leading to excess material that can make prints look messy, reduce detail, and cause issues like blobs, zits, and even structural problems. Please follow the instructions below to fix this:

Reduce Flow Rate

If over-extrusion is observed, consider reducing the flow rate by 5-10% and test with a new print. Alternatively, perform an extruder calibration to ensure accurate filament extrusion.

Lower Temperature or Speed

Lower the printing temperature if the filament appears too fluid, which can contribute to over-extrusion. Additionally, adjust the print speed; slower speeds can help achieve more precise filament deposition and reduce excess material.

Verify Filament Diameter

Incorrect filament diameter settings in your slicer can lead to over-extrusion. Ensure you have the correct settings in the slicer.
